Prof. Gail S. Goodman teaches psychology at the University of California Davis. The professor is also Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely known as the pioneer of modern-day scientific research of eyewitness accounts from children's memories as well as the role of children victims in court contexts. Professor Goodman's publications are extensive and she has been awarded numerous grants and is the recipient of many awards at international and national levels. She has worked with many governments and organizations around the globe on studies and policy issues pertaining to children who have been people who are victims of the law. She is currently a advisor to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She was a part of numerous professional organizations, such as those of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology and Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family policy and practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) She was a founder member of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division and Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family Policies and Practice.
